The short version
- We use your information to run Text Agent: to write, improve and publish the content you ask for.
- Content you use with an AI feature is sent to our AI providers to produce the result.
- We do not sell personal information.
- Access to a connected YouTube channel is used only to publish what you ask, and you can disconnect it at any time.
- To see, correct or delete your information, email support@textagent.dev.
01Who we are and what this covers#
Text Agent is provided by Baytech Consulting LLC (“Baytech,” “we,” “us”). This policy covers the Text Agent website at www.textagent.dev, the Text Agent application at app.textagent.dev, and the related services we provide (together, the “Service”).
Text Agent is a business tool for writing, improving and publishing content across websites. Our customers decide what content goes into it and where it is published. Use of the Service is also governed by our Terms of Service.
02Information we collect#
Information you give us
- Account details: your name and email address, and, if you add them, a profile photo, phone number, company, company website and time zone. Accounts are created by invitation, or when an administrator approves a request for access.
- Your content: drafts and articles, images, files and videos you upload, and the keywords and settings you enter.
- Site details: the websites you manage in Text Agent, including their addresses and the connection details needed to publish to them, such as a WordPress application password or a Craft CMS access token.
- Messages: what you send us when you contact support, and your conversations with the in-app Support Assistant.
Information from accounts you connect
- Sign in with Google or Microsoft: if you choose to, we receive your name and email address from that provider.
- YouTube: if you connect a channel, we receive its channel ID and name and access tokens that let Text Agent upload videos for you. See Google and YouTube data.
Information collected automatically
- On our website: we use Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics to understand how visitors find and use the site, including pages viewed, the referring site, browser and device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- In the app: we record which features you use, such as sign-ins, uploads and use of the Support Assistant. You can turn this off under Account → Preferences; that stops new records but does not remove earlier ones.
- Sign-in history: when you sign in, we record the time, your IP address and your browser. You can see your recent sign-ins under Account → Security.
- Error reports: when something goes wrong, our error monitoring records technical details of the error, which can include your IP address and browser details. We run this monitoring on our own servers. On our website, it also keeps a recording of the page for a small sample of visits and for visits where an error occurs; text typed into form fields is masked.
- Server logs: our servers record requests, including IP address, browser and time, to operate and secure the Service.
03How we use information#
We use information to:
- Provide the Service: create, improve and publish content, generate images and summaries, and keep your sites in sync.
- Publish to the websites and channels you connect, when you ask us to.
- Create and secure accounts, including sending invitations, email confirmations and password resets.
- Respond to support requests.
- Monitor, troubleshoot and improve the Service.
- Prevent misuse and comply with the law.
04How AI processing works#
Text Agent uses artificial intelligence to do the work you ask of it. When you use an AI feature, the content involved is sent to an AI provider to produce the result. That can include the text of a blog, images you upload (so the AI can write their titles, captions and alt text), the titles and addresses of your site’s other posts (so it can add links to them), and messages you send the Support Assistant.
- OpenAI is our main provider. It writes and improves blogs, metadata and social posts, and generates images.
- Anthropic powers the Support Assistant, and takes over most writing tasks if OpenAI is unavailable.
- Groq, Fireworks AI and Google (Gemini) are also available to us, and may handle some tasks or act as backups.
We send these providers only what a feature needs. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete, so review it before you publish it.
06Google and YouTube data#
Text Agent uses YouTube API Services to publish videos to channels you connect. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What we access and why
- YouTube: your channel ID and name, so you can see which channel is connected, and permission to upload videos and set their titles, descriptions, tags, category, visibility and thumbnails. Google’s consent screen describes this permission broadly, but Text Agent only uploads and updates the videos you publish through it.
- Sign in with Google: your name and email address, to create and sign in to your account.
We keep the access tokens Google issues so Text Agent can act for you without asking you to sign in each time. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. People at Baytech do not read it except with your permission, for security, or when the law requires it.
Text Agent’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Disconnecting
You can disconnect a channel at any time from your site’s Social Media settings in Text Agent, which also revokes Text Agent’s access at Google. You can also revoke it yourself from your Google security settings. Videos already published stay on YouTube until you remove them there.
08How long we keep information#
We keep account information and your content for as long as your account is active, so you can keep using it. When you ask us to delete your account or your content, we delete it within a reasonable time, except where we must keep information to comply with the law, resolve disputes or enforce our agreements.
Copies in backups are removed as those backups expire. Server logs and error reports are kept for a limited period and then deleted.
09Security#
We protect information with safeguards that include encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, encryption of the credentials you give us for connected services (such as CMS passwords and YouTube tokens), temporary lockout after repeated failed sign-ins, and access limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You can help by using a strong password, keeping your sign-in details private, and telling us at support@textagent.dev if you think your account has been compromised.
10Your choices#
- Access and correct: update your name, phone, photo and other details under Account in the app, and your password and email under Account → Security. You can also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Delete: email support@textagent.dev from the address on your account and we will delete your account and content as described above.
- Connected accounts: disconnect YouTube from your site’s Social Media settings, or revoke access with Google.
- Activity records: turn off activity tracking under Account → Preferences.
- Email: we send account emails, such as invitations, email confirmations and password resets. We do not currently send optional notification emails.
11Children#
Text Agent is a business service for people 18 and older. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12Where we process information#
Text Agent is operated from the United States and intended for businesses in the United States. Our storage and email providers process data in U.S. regions. This policy is written for users in the United States, and we do not represent that the Service meets the requirements of privacy laws outside the United States, such as the GDPR.
13Changes to this policy#
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and change the date at the top. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
